Keyboard shortcuts and accelerator keys

Most menu items have keyboard shortcuts, which you can use when or if you prefer not to access them with the mouse. First access the pullright from the menu bar (either with the mouse or by pressing its hot key) and then press the hot key(s) for the sub-item. For example, to access the Peaks/Pick One menu item, you can see from the table under Peaks pulldown <Alt>-k that you press <Alt>-k to access the Peaks pulldown, followed by o to access the Pick One item. (In the rest of this guide, this is abbreviated as <Alt>-ko.)

Some menu items have accelerators (usually the <Ctrl> key and a letter, also listed in the tables below), which do not require you to go down through the menu hierarchy to access the item or perform the action. You simply press the accelerator keys to directly access the menu item, for example, <Ctrl>-o to open a file.

Finally, Pulldown-independent functions are accessed by a single keystroke, as described in the table.
